Amsterdam Tigers Para sledge hockey players

The Amsterdam Tigers have a Sledgehockey team that evolved from the Amsterdam Huskies. This team the Amsterdam Tigers Para is affiliated with the GSN, the Gehandicapten Sport Nederland and the N.IJ.B, the Dutch Ice Hockey Association. The Amsterdam Tigers Para arose from the need to offer people with physical disabilities a sporting place on the ice. The Amsterdam Tigers Para are a mixed sports club, where both men, women & youth, and able-bodied and disabled athletes can have their say. Sledge hockey players must possess reasonable upper arm strength. In practice, the Amsterdam Tigers Para's accommodate athletes with, for example: spina bifida, spasticity, a muscle disease, a transverse spina bifida, an amputation.
