Shorttrack

Shorttrack is a form of speed skating on a 111.12 meter oval set out on an ice hockey rink. Besides fitness and skating technique, shorttrack is about agility, acceleration and tactics. With four to eight skaters simultaneously hanging diagonally in the turns, supporting their left hand on the ice and passing each other left and right, is the characteristic situation in shorttrack competitions.
Shorttrack in the ice hall of the Jaap Edenbaan is available for beginners and advanced skaters on Tuesday evenings with ASC Jaap Eden and on Thursday evenings with the rink association Groot Amsterdam, the umbrella association for all ice associations training at the Jaap Edenbaan.
Go to the PGI or ASC Jaap Eden website for information. Or contact your own skating association.
