Spring break: Winter sports with skating lessons in your own city

Do you have winter sports jitters but don't feel like long journeys to the snow? Then book a spring course and enjoy the ultimate winter sports feeling in Amsterdam Oost!

During the school vacations, come for 5 days of lessons in a winter environment and enjoy the true winter sports feeling at the Jaap Eden Ice Rink in Watergraafsmeer.

Vacation Courses at Jaap Eden
You can take a vacation course every school vacation from October through March. The next course is the spring break course!

Entrance to the grounds
Unlike other courses, for the vacation course you will be sent a QR code which you can use during the course week to enter the grounds.

The QR code can be found in the confirmation email after booking the course.

Parents/Supervisors
If you register for a youth course, in addition to the entrance QR code you will receive a QR code intended for the parents or supervisors of the student. The parent/supervisor QR code gives a parent 2 x access per day on course days, 1x for bringing and 1x for picking up. This QR code does not give access to the ice. If you would like to skate yourself, you can purchase individual admission tickets (if available).

Skating Levels
Youth classes are taught at any level.

Adult classes are only at 09:00 for absolute beginners. Classes at 11:30 are from level 3 up. Press the button above the times below to see what that means.

Wearing a helmet
Wearing a helmet is mandatory during youth lessons starting this winter. Adults we recommend wearing a helmet on the ice. Wearing a helmet significantly reduces the number of unpleasant accidents. Ice is hard and falls are in a small corner, no matter how much skating experience you have. Be wise, use a helmet on the ice.

Skate Rental
If you enroll in a youth course, it is possible to rent skates with it. You will receive an email 1 week prior to the course about skate rental. skate rental costs €5.50 per day and can only be purchased for the entire course period.

The deposit for the rental skates is €70. This will be charged immediately upon your registration. You will get the deposit back when you return the skates.
